University of Texas

Austin is like a fine gem stone that has many facets. Each face reveling yet another beautiful side of the city.  In the not to distant past the main employers of Austin were the state government and since 1883 the University of Texas. The times have changed but UT continues to be a central figure in the city. “A  University of the First Class”, UT in one of the largest public universities in the US and most of its colleges and programs rank in the top 10 of all schools nationwide. UT, commonly called “the 40 acres,” also draws tens of thousands of people each year as spectators of its numerous top tier athletic events. With 47 National Championships and more Big 12 Championships than anyone else in the conference, Texas has a long and distinguished athletic history.  Overall UT is a where thousands have made lifelong memories and was rated “One of America’s Best Value Colleges and one of the best overall bargains by The Princeton Review in 2007”.  All of this may be the reason that on campus we are found of saying proudly...what starts here changes the world.
